Overview
A Global
Leader in
Rail Transit
Bringing global rail expertise to Malaysia through technology transfer and localisation.
Established in 1936, CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. (CRRC ZELC) is a core subsidiary of CRRC Corporation Limited (CRRC), the world’s largest rail transit equipment manufacturer with state-of-the-art technologies and a comprehensive rolling stock portfolio. Today, CRRC ZELC operates through a global network of 34 subsidiaries. Among them, Malaysia stands out as an important milestone in its globalisation journey, where technology transfer and localisation strategies have been successfully implemented.
Key
milestones
CRRC ZELC’s journey in Malaysia began in 2010 with a landmark project to supply 38 sets of six-car EMUs (SCS) to Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB), marking the beginning of a long-term partnership with the nation’s rail industry.
Over the years, this partnership has grown through successive rolling stock supply and maintenance service projects. Throughout this journey, CRRC ZELC has driven technology transfer and localisation, helping to build in-country manufacturing and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities.
