As CRRC’s first fully automated and driverless cross-border LRV project, the RTS Link connects Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and Woodlands, Singapore, with a journey time of approximately six minutes. The fleet is designed to operate reliably in the demanding high-salinity marine environment.

Design
Inspiration
The exterior design draws inspiration from the RTS Link’s cross-border role, incorporating the colours of the Singapore, Malaysia and Johor flags into a contemporary livery. The interior adopts an ocean-inspired colour palette, with calming shades of blue complemented by white and orange accents, creating a bright, welcoming and contemporary passenger environment.
Key Features
Equipped with a longitudinal-drive inboard axlebox bogie, the train features a compact and lightweight vehicle structure that enables a more efficient traction system, resulting in lower energy consumption.
Passive obstacle detection and derailment detection systems provide enhanced safety for fully automated driverless operation.
Three independent traction systems enable operation on gradients of up to 3% under AW4 load conditions, even with the loss of two-thirds of traction power.
Designed for high-salinity and cross-sea operating environments, using anti-corrosion coatings and corrosion-resistant materials to withstand salt spray corrosion.
